Most respondents develop healthy breakfast habits amid epidemic: survey

BEIJING -- A total of 86.7 percent of the respondents in a recent survey said that they have been more focused on nutrition and health when eating breakfast than before the COVID-19 outbreak, China Youth Daily reported Thursday.

The survey, conducted among 2,607 respondents, showed that over 55 percent of the respondents have breakfast every morning, with only 1.8 percent seldom eating breakfast.

About 65 percent of the respondents found that a healthy breakfast keeps them energetic during the day, and 64 percent of them said it helps to build their immunity, according to the survey report.

In addition, 72.3 percent of the respondents have developed healthy eating habits, and 48 percent have studied nutrition to improve their breakfasts.

The survey also found 91.3 percent of the respondents born in the 1960s value breakfast, while only 73.4 percent of those born in the 2000s pay the same attention to the first meal in the morning.

Of those surveyed, 3.1 percent were born in the 1960s and 10.2 percent in the 2000s.
