At a press briefing held by the State Council inter-agency task force on 12 April, NHC spokesperson Mi Feng said that 99 confirmed cases were newly reported on 11 April by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, of which 97 were imported cases, the highest number on a single day since the outbreak. This is a reminder of the growing risk of case import and the resulted pressure on cities of entry. Local authorities must be prepared for a long haul in dealing with imported cases, and further enhance their testing and treatment capacities.
