Leaving for the front
On the evening of Feb 12, Gong Yuanqi, a doctor in East China's Jiangxi province, was told he would leave for Wuhan the next morning as a member of the national medical team.
In 2008 when an earthquake hit Wenchuan in Southwest China's Sichuan province, Gong rushed to the front line despite the fact his daughter was only a few months old.
Five days after Gong left for Wuhan, the now 12-year-old girl wrote him a letter:
"I know as a doctor, you have to be prepared to sacrifice like a soldier. You are my hero with a sense of responsibility."
