Poetic messages of encouragement lift spirits in epidemic

"Mountains and rivers apart, we share the same winds and moon under the same sky."  (山川异域,风月同天)

The lines were seen on boxes of relief materials sent from Japan to Hubei province. The poem dates back to the Tang Dynasty, when Japan sent people to study Buddhism in China. The poem was printed on kasaya robes sent by a Japanese prince to Tang monks as presents.
