Chinese medical experts meet with Iranian health authorities to discuss outbreak


The expert team sent by the Red Cross Society of China to Iran and experts from World Health Organization met with Iran's health ministry on Tuesday in Tehran to discuss the novel coronavirus outbreak in the country, the Red Cross Society said on Wednesday.
Iran's experts in handling the epidemic have introduced the overall picture, patient treatment, pathogen monitoring, epidemic data and prevention measures for the epidemic in the country, the Red Cross Society said in a news release.
Experts from the WHO and China have discussed the role of quarantine in controlling the epidemic with Iranian health officials, it said.
Iranian officials have introduced the latest epidemic development in the country and the possible influence of different intervention measures to stop the spread of the virus, it said.
The Chinese team also conducted prevention training for all staff members at the Chinese Embassy in Iran, it added.
The five-person team arrived in Tehran on Saturday, bringing part of China's medical supply aid to Iran.
The team visited the Iranian Red Crescent Society on Monday to discuss prevention and control of the outbreak in the country.
