NHC Update: Daily Cured and Discharged Cases Nationwide Over 1,000 for 11 Days and Over 2,000 for 3 Days

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 22 February, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 648 confirmed cases;
b) 97 fatal cases (including 96 in Hubei and 1 in Guangdong);
c) 882 suspected cases;
d) 2,230 cured and discharged cases;
e) 22,128 close contacts released from medical observation; and
f) 509 fewer severe cases.
2. As of 24:00, 22 February, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 51,606 confirmed cases (including 10,968 severe cases) still under treatment;
b) 22,888 cured and discharged cases (revised down by 1 in Anhui Province);
c) 2,442 fatal cases;
d) 76,936 confirmed cases;
e) 4,148 suspected cases; and
f) 628,517 close contacts traced (including 106,089 still under medical observation).
3. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 22 February, the following were newly reported by Hubei:
a) 630 confirmed cases (including 541 in Wuhan);
b) 1,742 cured and discharged cases (including 965 in Wuhan);
c) 96 fatal cases (including 82 in Wuhan); and
d) 631 suspected cases (including 454 in Wuhan).
As of 24:00, 22 February, Hubei had reported:
a) 46,439 confirmed cases (including 36,174 in Wuhan) still under treatment;
b) 10,428 severe cases (including 9,228 in Wuhan);
c) 15,299 cured and discharged cases (including 8,171 in Wuhan);
d) 2,346 fatal cases (including 1,856 in Wuhan);
e) 64,084 confirmed cases (including 46,201 in Wuhan); and
f) 3,363 suspected cases (including 2,382 in Wuhan).
4. As of 24:00, 22 February, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 105 confirmed cases:
a) 69 (including 11 discharged cases and 2 fatal cases) in the Hong Kong SAR;
b) 10 (including 6 discharged cases) in the Macao SAR; and
c) 26 (including 2 discharged cases and 1 fatal case) in the Taiwan region.
The daily number of cured and discharged cases nationwide exceeded 1,000 for the 11th consecutive day. The previous numbers were: 1,171 (12 Feb.), 1,081 (13 Feb.), 1,373 (14 Feb.), 1,323 (15 Feb.), 1,425 (16 Feb.), 1,701 (17 Feb.), 1,824 (18 Feb.), 1,779 (19 Feb.), 2,109 (20 Feb.), 2,393 (21 Feb.). For three days running from 20 to 22 February, the number had been over 2,000.
