Guangdong trounce Shandong to extend 12-game winning streak in CBA
DONGGUAN, China -- Yi Jianlian, Sonny Weems and Marshon Brooks combined for 78 points as Guangdong Southern Tigers stun Shandong Heros 132-103 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Saturday.
Guangdong is now 27-2 to lead the league after extending its winning streak to 12.
"We kept our focus on the court and shared the ball well," Guangdong coach Du Feng said after the game.
Guangdong dominated at both ends and led the game all the way to bag their third consecutive victory with more than 20 points advantage.
"We had 30 assists tonight and that was what the team needed, we did well in the recent three games," he added.
Yi Jianlian had 29 points plus seven rebounds, Weems contributed 26 points and 15 assists, Brooks added 23 points and nine rebounds for Guangdong. Manny Harris scored a game-high 32 points for Shandong.
