US-born Chinese skier Gu hits slopes in Beijing
Chinese skier Gu Ailing, also known as Eileen Gu, unleashed her bag of tricks on snow while skiing down the slopes at the Nanshan Ski Village in Beijing's Miyun district on Sunday.
The 16-year-old said it was her first try on the slopes since she suffered a concussion during training in Austria three weeks ago.
Meanwhile, it was officially announced that Gu will be the brand ambassador for China's major dairy producer, Mengniu, and will be supported by the enterprise to further promote ice and snow sports among younger people in China.
Gu announced on her Sina Weibo in June that she switched her citizenship from the United States to China. Two months later, the teen skier claimed her first-ever victory for China in the Ladies' Freestyle Skiing Slope Obstacles Competition at the Australia-New Zealand Cup.
