Revised regulation to enhance safety at coach stations

BEIJING -- An amended regulation on safety operation of coach stations will take effect on Nov 1.
The regulation, issued by the Ministry of Transport, focuses on strengthening the safety management at such facilities and the requirement of routine safety checks.
Coaches shall not be allowed to leave the station if passengers fail to wear seat belts, the regulation stipulates.
It also requires coach station operators to improve their risk management and introduce third parties to evaluate their safety system.
