Any attempt to split China will end in vain: Xi

Any attempt to split China will end in vain, said President Xi Jinping during his visit to Nepal on Sunday.
Xi made the remarks while talking with Nepali Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli in Kathmandu during the first visit by a Chinese president to the South Asian country in 23 years.
Separatist activities in any place in China will be smashed into pieces, Xi said, adding that external forces' support for separatists in China will be considered delusional by Chinese people.

In the talks, Oli reaffirmed his country's firm stance on supporting China to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Noting that Nepal firmly supports the one-China principle, Oli said the country resolutely opposes any forces to use its territory to engage in anti-China separatist activities.
