Driver sentenced to 7 years for road accident that killed 15

LANZHOU -- A driver was sentenced on Thursday to seven years in prison for causing a deadly road accident by a court in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu province in Northwest China.
On Nov 3, 2018, a tower-crane truck driven by Li Feng lost control and crashed into a line of vehicles due to a brake failure in the downhill section of the expressway in Lanzhou.
The accident killed 15 people and injured 46, and caused direct economic losses of about 2 million yuan (about $279,600), according to the court.
The truck owner Li Jialin was also on board when the accident happened. The driver and the truck owner were each sentenced to seven years in prison for causing the traffic accident.
