Rice park fosters tourism, increases income

The rice park, jointly built by Chaojiazhuang village and a company in 2015, includes walkways that surround the area. There are also three village hotels, attracting tourists on weekends. Villagers here can work in the rice park, planting rice, and can also receive land rent each year.

Near the rice park, the village built three hotels for tourists, who mainly come from Xi’an city and Hanzhong city. The hotels also offer 62 more jobs for unemployed villagers.

In 2018, Foping county welcomed 1.52 million visitors. Of them, 280,000 traveled by high-speed rail and comprised 19 percent of the total number of tourists.
