Beijing parks receive 2.44m visitors during Labor Day holiday

BEIJING - Major parks in Beijing received 2.44 million visitors during the four-day Labor Day holiday, the municipal park administration center said Sunday.
Average daily visitors of the 11 municipal parks and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture reached 600,000 from May 1 to May 4. Some parks reported 40 percent increase year on year.
The peak occurred Thursday, with more than 720,000 daily visitors, the center said.
The Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven Park and Beijing Zoo were reported as the most popular destinations.
The center said the ongoing blossoming also sparked enthusiasm among residents and tourists, contributing to tourism.
