BEIJING - Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and Beijing Shougang agreed to release star forward Shao Ting to join Minnesota Lynx this season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), Shao Ting's agent confirmed on Monday.
Shao, who has already signed a one-year contract with the Lynx, almost completes the paperwork for the transfer, and is scheduled to head for the United States later this month.
The 29-year-old became the second player to join WNBA this season as Xinjiang's center Han Xu was drafted by the New York Liberty on April 10.
Shao played the 2017 preseason for the Lynx and returned to China to lead the Beijing Shougang to the semifinals of the 2018-2019 Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA).
