State Council appoints, removes officials

BEIJING -- The State Council, China's Cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several officials Thursday.

Yu Jianhua was appointed Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative.

Lu Jianhua was appointed deputy director of the National Natural Science Foundation.

Wu Peng was appointed permanent representative to the United Nations Environment Programme and permanent representative to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, replacing Sun Baohong.
