Event aims to spread awareness about autism

To draw more public attention to the sufferers of autism, a public welfare event themed “Just Like You” was held at the Beijing BISS International School on the 12th World Autism Awareness Day, which fell on April 2.

The event, co-organized by the China Social Welfare Foundation; the Beijing Association for the Rehabilitation of Autistic Children; the Beijing BISS International School; ETU Education, and the Peking University Sixth Hospital involved exhibition of artworks made by autistic children and adults, an auction of their paintings, bakery courses in which they were taught how to make cookies and variety shows staged by BISS’s students, autistic people and their families.
