Four-time Olympic champion Biles named in judges' panel at Superstars of Gymnastics in London

LONDON - Simone Biles, who won four gymnastics gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will be a judge for the Superstars of Gymnastics tournament to be held at The O2 Arena in London on Saturday.
The American super star, who also collected a total of 14 world titles, will be alongside British men's star Max Whitlock, who won two gold medals in Rio, at the tournament which organizers said will showcase an exhibition of the very best talent in gymnastics over two sessions at The O2.
The all-star judging panel will rate each performance out of 10, with no code of points and an emphasis on flair, creative choreography, execution and engagement with the live crowd.
"We have been waiting a long time for this," said Biles. "I am so excited to see what everyone has in store for the fans on Saturday. I'm also really looking forward to being a judge.
"It was fun to figure what we're going to go out there and do because we've never done anything like this before, so it was a chance to do something very different. Because it's a showcase it means you can go out there and have a lot more fun.
"Being a judge will be a lot different, but I think it will give me a new perspective and it will be pretty exciting. My coach Laurent is with me on the panel along with Max and Amy so it's an amazing panel.'
"I have been looking forward to this for so long," added Whitlock. "Events like this are what gymnastics has needed for a very long time. As a gymnast, for our sport we need to push it as far as we possibly can and our mission has always been to inspire the next generation.
"We are bringing something that hasn't been seen before. The gymnasts have the freedom to perform anything they want to wow the crowd, and that might bring something you've never seen before; it is very exciting. Our sport has come on leaps and bounds and this is a way to continue that."
