Arxan festival set to raise icy profile


Tourists will be able to enjoy the winter fun by watching skiing competitions and snow soccer contests, as well as horse and motor racing during the event. An exhibition of ice engravings, a photographic exhibition and a display of local products will also be held.
Arxan is planning for a bumper winter tourist season, with exciting new initiatives to promote its hot springs, beautiful ice and snow scenery, and lush forests.
In 2018, Arxan city welcomed around 4 million tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 17 percent, with total tourism revenues hitting 5.13 billion yuan ($743 million), a year-on-year increase of 18 percent.
And with figures like these, it's not hard to imagine that Arxan will soon be on the map for skiing enthusiasts everywhere.
