A exhibition of historical materials and photos relating to the Tokyo Trial, also known as the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, or the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal, is being held in Nanjing, East China’s Jiangsu province.

Twenty-eight Japanese war criminals, including top military and political leaders, were charged with 55 counts at the trial from 1946 to 1948.

A total of 145 photos and captions are on display at the Nanjing Folk Anti-Japanese War Museum to introduce the significance of Tokyo Trial. It is the first time that photos about the Tokyo Trial are being exhibited in Nanjing, then the capital of China during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1931-1945).

“I believe that forgetting the suffering of the past may lead to disasters in the future,” said Wu Xianbin, curator of the museum. “Though 70 years have passed since the trial, it still reminds us to worship civilization and fight against war.”

The exhibition will be at the museum until the end of January.
