1 dead, 11 injured after attack by college student in Yunnan

A student attacked and injured 12 people around noon Friday in a college in Anning city of Yunnan province. One of the wounded died after being sent to hospital, according to a release from the local government.
Of the remaining injured, nine are students and two are teachers at the Yunnan Traffic Technician College, and none of them are in critical condition, the release said.
The suspect, identified by his surname as Yang, attacked people in the college's teaching building at 11:26 am with a weapon, the release said, without specifying what weapon it was or Yang's motive.
Yang, a 20-year-old sophomore at the school, has been apprehended by the police. A further investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
