Gansu police seize 30 kg of heroin
LANZHOU - Police in Northwest China's Gansu province have busted an interprovincial drug gang of eight suspects and seized over 30 kg of heroin.
According to police in Lanzhou, the provincial capital, a drug dealer frequently driving between Gansu and Yunnan province in Southwest China caught their attention in May.
The suspect was captured at a highway exit in Lanzhou on Sept 16. The vehicle and 40 bulks of heroin weighing 14 kg were also seized at the scene.
The police captured three more suspects along with 4 kg of heroin in late September, and another dealer with nearly 12 kg of heroin on him a month later.
In the meantime, another main suspect and his two accomplices who were about to flee were captured by police.
Further investigation is underway.
