Turkey demonstrates archery skills in Beijing

Liang said at that ceremony that the exhibition is a further enhancement of China-Turkey friendly relations, and he hoped that China and Turkey will further strengthen exchanges in sports, especially in archery.

"Both Turkey and China have a long history and national characteristics in the field of archery. We can strengthen cultural exchanges and promote understanding between the two peoples through this archery exhibition," said Necmettin Erdogan, president of the World Ethnosport Confederation.

At the event, Chinese and Turkish attendees had in-depth exchanges on the exhibits and Turkish archery culture. Meanwhile, Turkish archers showed their archery skills on the spot, with many Chinese visitors also attracted and were given chances to experience traditional Turkish archery on site.

The two countries agreed to make 2018 the "Turkey Tourism Year", and Turkey plans to host 60 events in China, including music performances, painting exhibitions, as well as events on photography and traditional Turkish handicrafts, literature, films, cuisine and tourism.

Turkey and China are working together to revive the ancient "Silk Road" through shipping and railway under the Belt and Road Initiative.
