E-business thrives in Chinese county adjoining Vietnam
Some cross-border e-business platforms were built at the right time to bring greater convenience and economic benefits.
89bay.com, for example, allows border residents to buy and pay for Vietnamese products, such as nuts, seafood and fruit, with a few clicks online. On Oct 23, 5,334 online import transactions with a total volume of over 4.2 million yuan had been made by Dongxing residents on Oct 23 by about 5pm.
Before that, border consumers had to buy these goods face to face with Vietnamese sellers, stand in a long queue to make payment in the border trade settlement center and do the shipment.
In the future, Dongxing will make further efforts to improve the e-commerce platform, promote the synergy of online and offline business, enhance logistics and encourage entrepreneurship with an aim to build a free, convenient and well-regulated direct selling system and cross-border e-business system.
