Wang and Fan crowned, China sweep Asiad table tennis golds in Jakarta
Later on Saturday, world No 1 Fan Zhendong underwent the biggest scare at the tournament from Lin Gaoyuan, managing to stride to the top finish 11-8, 11-5, 15-17, 4-11, 11-8, 11-6.
"Winning the gold medal is great, but the proceedings are not so easy as expected," said Fan, "it was a test for me, and I met many difficulties here."
"I've become more mature this time, and can still play at my level with a strong desire to win," he added.
Prior to Saturday's two singles titles, China also bagged the men's and women's team and mixed doubles gold medals, once again signalling their dominant position in Asia with five golds and three silvers.
South Korea sit second with one silver and three bronzes. India stand on podium for the first time with bronze medals in men's team and mixed doubles. Noshad Alamiyan Daronkolaei offers Iran their first medal in 52 years in men's singles.
