NANJING -- A research and development (R&D) base for stem cells storage and application recently went into operation in Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province.
The base can preserve three million oral stem cells and umbilical cord stem cells. It is expected to be a bioscience base of stem cell storage, pharmaceutical development and medical application.
The base, covering 3.24 hectares, has cell production workshops with Good Manufacturing Practice, a quality inspection center and a global cooperation R&D center.
The base can also preserve the stem cells of children's lost baby teeth to later cultivate into medicine for future use.
