Yang’s visit to boost China-Kuwait ties
The visit of Yang Jiechi, special representative of President Xi Jinping, is expected to further boost bilateral ties, said the Kuwaiti ambassador to China.
Yang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to visit Kuwait and United Arab Emirates from Saturday to Monday.
In a press statement, Kuwaiti Ambassador to China Sameeh Johar Hayat said that Kuwait considered the visit very important on both economic and political levels.
"The visit aims to strengthen cooperation in all fields between the two countries and transfer it to the level of strategic partnership," Hayat said.
Both sides are scheduled to discuss a number of current and important matters in the Middle East that require appropriate solutions, he noted.
Regarding bilateral relations between Kuwait and China, Ambassador Hayat said, "Kuwait is looking forward to attracting more Chinese investments." He also expressed the hope that the visit would achieve desired results to promote Kuwait-Chinese relations, expand common interests and achieve further cooperation.
