As a committed and responsible country, China is concerned with the welfare of humanity and will help build a global community of shared future, said Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress.

Wang quoted General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech in the report to the 19th Party Congress that China will strive for both the well-being of Chinese people and human progress. To make new and greater contributions for humanity is a binding mission of the Community Party of China.

China will put the greater good before its self interests; and will stand up for small and weak countries and help less-developed countries achieve better growth, Wang said calling China's foreign policy as "more visionary."

China will stand for the equality of all countries, large or small; and will respect different civilizations and systems.

China will play a more active role to meet international expectations and approach global governance on the basis of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, he said.

China will be more active in helping to reform and improve the global governance system, find more constructive ways to settle regional and international issues by political means and forge more effective partnerships to address various global challenges, Wang said.
