First phase of BFA’s new campus finished on schedule
The first stage of construction of the Beijing Film Academy's new Huairou campus was finished on schedule on Feb 4, and it is estimated the building will be completed in the first half of 2019, thepaper.cn reported on Friday.
Until then, the first part of the new campus will meet the teaching and living demands of 2,000 students. The construction of the second phase is expected to begin this year, according to the paper.cn.
All undergraduate classes will eventually be transferred to the new campus.
The first phase of construction includes classrooms, libraries, student and teacher dormitories, canteens and underground parking. It has an area of about 180,000 square meters, more than 30,000 square meters of which is underground.
The second phase, which includes a sports ground and an assembly hall, will start in 2018 and will cover an area of about 220,000 square meters.
