Northwest China province appoints acting governor

XI'AN -- Liu Guozhong was appointed acting governor of Northwest China's Shaanxi province Thursday.
Liu was also named deputy governor of the province at a session of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress.
The local legislature accepted the resignation of Hu Heping as governor of Shaanxi at the same session.
Hu was appointed as secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Oct 29, 2017, in accordance with a decision of the CPC Central Committee.
Liu, born in July 1962, is a native of Wangkui in northeastern China's Heilongjiang Province.
