Chongqing appoints acting mayor

CHONGQING - Tang Liangzhi was appointed acting mayor of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality Tuesday.
Tang was named vice mayor and acting mayor of the city at a session of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress.
The local legislature accepted the resignation of former mayor Zhang Guoqing at the session.
