BEIJING -- Chinese authorities have outlined major tasks and targets for the rural vitalization strategy as they seek to address issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural people.
By 2020, the vitalization strategy should have achieved important progress, and an institutional framework and policy system should have been basically formed, according to a statement released Friday after the central rural work conference.
By 2035, China aims for "decisive" progress in the plan, with basic modernization of agriculture and rural areas. By 2050, the rural areas should see all-around vitalization, featuring strong agriculture, a beautiful countryside and well-off farmers, the statement said.
