China plans Palestinian-Israeli seminar

China hopes to hold a seminar attended by both Palestinians and Israelis dedicated to peace in the region within the end of this year, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday.

The status of Jerusalem must be decided through dialogue and negotiation in accordance with the resolution of the United Nations, Wang said in a keynote speech at a seminar on global situation and China's diplomacy held in Beijing.

China calls on all relevant parties to maintain restraint and avoid causing new turbulence in the Middle East, which is already facing numerous challenges, he said.
