Chinese president appoints new ambassadors

BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping has appointed two new ambassadors, upon approval from the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, according to a statement by the national legislature.
Wang Ke was appointed ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania, replacing Lyu Youqing.
Wei Qiang was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Panama.
