13 injured in Central China fire

WUHAN -- Thirteen people were injured when an apartment building caught fire early Wednesday in Central China's Hubei province, the local government said.
The fire broke out at around 2 am in a three-story building in Jiangxia district of the provincial capital Wuhan, the district government said in a statement.
The fire started in an electricity meter box on the ground floor and was extinguished after 40 minutes.
All the residents woke up in time to escape, but 12 suffered burns and one was slightly injured after jumping from a window sill, the document said.
The injured residents are being treated in the Third People's Hospital in Wuhan and are all in a stable condition.
