Jan 10-31, 1946: Multi-party political consultative conference held in Chongqing

On Jan 10-31, 1946, representatives of the Kuomintang, the Communist Party of China, the China Democratic League, and the Chinese Youth Party, as well as independent delegates, attended the Political Consultative Conference in Chongqing.
The conference passed five agreements on how to restructure government, how to found a new state peacefully, how to solve military issues, how to convene the national assembly and how to draft Constitution.
The meeting was helpful in breaking through the KMT dictatorship and realizing democracy, as well as building a new country peacefully. It was welcomed by people across the country.
