The Second Plenary Session of the Tenth CPC Central Committee is held on Jan 8-10, 1975.

On Jan 5, 1975 the CPC Central Committee issued a document to appoint Deng Xiaoping as Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission and chief of the general staff of PLA.

The session discussed how to prepare for the Fourth National People's Congress and elected Deng Xiaoping as vice chairman of the CPC Central Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
