From November 14-29, 1980, CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection convened the third symposium on how to implement Several Principles that Guide Inner-Party Political Life. In the meeting, Hu Yaobang passed on Chen Yun's view that the conduct of the Party is such a life -and-death matter that great importance should be attached to the construction of a clean and honest administration. Hu also delivered a speech about the conduct of the Party.
