March 8-26, 1958: Chengdu Meeting

On March 8-26, 1958, the CPC Central Committee held a work conference in Chengdu, which was attended by leaders of related departments of the CPC Central Committee and the central government and the top Party bosses of provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. The meeting was also referred to as Chengdu Meeting.
This was an important meeting during the process of launching the "Great Leap Forward".
