The railway ticket system in the capital was paralyzed for 67 minutes Sunday leaving passengers unable to buy or change tickets, the Beijing Times reported.
The incident was caused by an electronic failure. Nearby Tianjin and Shijiazhuang were also affected, the paper said, citing Beijing Railway Bureau.
Temporary tickets with handwritten train numbers and times were used as substitutes. Passengers had to choose their own seats.
The problem started at 7:28 am in the morning and ended at 8:35 am, the paper said.
