Chinese residents will soon be able to buy official 2008 Beijing Olympics products online, said an official from the Beijing Games organizers.

Starting from next month, Chinese residents will be able to buy 2008 Olympic products from web, but the official responsible for licensed products sales management in the organizing committee declined to reveal the name of the service provider.

"We'll release the information soon and this one only deals with domestic sales," Tang Yonghong told chinadaily.com.cn.

Tang said they will select another company to carry the international online sales service.

Asked when people overseas could make their purchases without coming to China, Tang replied: "Very soon" and could not give a specific schedule, except that it would definitely be before the end of the year.

China's Daily Economy News quoted an anonymous source inside the organizing committee saying an agreement was signed between the service provider and Games organizers.

The source also told the newspaper more than half of all the licensed Olympic products can be purchased from the site, except for goods of extra large sizes and expensive products.
