Chinese companies make new year donation in Yangon

YANGON - Chinese companies investing in Myanmar Friday made donation to Hninzigon Home for the Aged in Yangon as a gesture of new year greeting to the aged people without relatives to depend on and taken care by the social establishment.

The items of the donation, made by the Myanmar-based Chinese Chamber of Commerce to the historic "Hninzigon Home for the Aged", include daily necessities, medical equipment and wheel-chairs.

President of the Hninzigon Home for the Aged U Kyaw Shein told Xinhua that the donation is the biggest in scale among that of foreign organizations he witnessed in 16 years.

The Hninzigon Home for the Aged was established in 1933 and it is accommodating 202 old people of the age between 70 and 99.
