ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that Turkish officials are in talks with their Egyptian counterparts for a possible visit by him to Gaza later this month.

"This is a process that will continue until the last minute. We are in talks with our Egyptian brothers. I may or may not go to Gaza," Erdogan told reporters Tuesday.

Erdogan plans to visit Egypt on September 12. There have been reports that he also wants to travel to the Gaza Strip from Egypt' s Rafah crossing.
