BANGKOK - Incoming Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra expressed her appreciation on Wednesday after the Election Commission (EC) certified her lawmaker status on Tuesday.

However, the prime minister in-waiting said she would wait to report herself to the parliamentary office with some other key Pheu Thai lawmaker candidates including 12 core leaders of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), aka Red- shirts, who are not yet verified by the EC.

The incoming prime minister said that she felt good after the EC endorsed her as  she would be able to spearhead policies announced during her election campaigns fully.

The newly endorsed lawmaker confirmed that she would not put pressure on the EC because she had faith in the panel that it will consider the endorsement fairly.

The EC so far has certified election results of only 370 lawmakers, the number of which has not yet make a required quorum of 475 or 95 percent of the overall 500. The commission has 30 days after election day or by August 3 to endorse lawmakers facing complaints of electoral fraud or inadequate qualifiction so that the first parliamentary meeting could be convened.
