6-magnitude quake hits near coast of Honshu, Japan

HONG KONG - An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale occurred at 2:36 am Friday (18:36 GMT on Thursday) near east coast of Honshu, Japan, the Hong Kong Observatory said.  

The epicenter is located near 37.1N, 141.2E, about 130 kilometers south of Sendai, said a bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. No casualties and damages have been reported.
