"China, as always, believes that dialogue and talks serve as the best  option to resolve Iran's nuclear issue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a regular news briefing Thursday.

Ma made the comments when asked to give an update on the progress of Iran nuclear issue.

Ma said China supported the dual-track strategy and played a constructive role in discussions.

"China expects the United Nations Security Council's actions to help protect the international nuclear non-proliferation system, ensure peace and stability in the Middle East, save the situation and promote a proper settlement of the Iran nuclear issue," Ma said.
