15 killed in Indonesia's traffic accidents

JAKARTA - Fifteen people were killed and 34 others injured in two traffic accidents Wednesday morning in Indonesia's Java, police was quoted by the detik.com as saying.

Ten passengers were killed instantly as a bus carrying 50 passengers and a container truck collided in Penundan, Batang regency. The bus headed to Jakarta from Ponorogo, East Java. The injured passengers were rushed to the hospitals nearby.

A truck carrying steel plates rolled over after hitting a cliff on the side of the road in Roban forest, also in the same regency.

The accident killed five teenagers who hitch hiking the truck from the town of Pekalongan near Batang.
