American citizen Winston Marshall was detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the Indian capital Wednesday night after a knife was found in his hand baggage.

"Marshall was about to board a flight to Doha when he was stopped by the security personnel. He is now being interrogated by the Delhi Police and Intelligence Bureau to find any terror link," the sources said.

Marshall possessed a multiple entry tourist visa and had traveled to Pakistan and Bangladesh in recent months, said the sources.
