HANOI: Vietnam has sent 52,210 laborers to work overseas so far this year, local newspaper the Vietnam Investment Review reported Monday.

In September, the country sent 6,600 laborers for working overseas, said the newspaper.

Vietnam sent laborers most to China's Taiwan for working with 2,218 people last month. The country sent 1,100 laborers to Laos and 637 to Libya in September, according to the newspaper.

Japan and the United Arab Emirates received a total of 979 Vietnamese laborers in September, said the newspaper.
