PYONGYANG: The top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Il, inspected Kim Jong Suk Naval University, the official news agency KCNA reported on Wednesday.
According to the KCNA, Kim said the navy played an important role because the DPRK was a maritime country "surrounded by seas on three sides."
He emphasized the importance of further strengthening the naval force and hoped the DPRK would have a navy "capable of beating back any formidable enemy's invasion at a single strike."
However, the report didn't mention the specific date and place of the visit.
