RIO DE JANEIRO - A plane carrying two Brazilian ministers crash-landed at an airport in northeastern Brazil Wednesday. No one was injured in the incident.
The Brazilian Air Force plane suffered a technical problem just after take-off at Guararapes Airport in Recife, capital city of Pernambuco state.
The plane, bound for Brasilia, the country's federal capital, was forced to return.
Geddel Vieira Lima, Brazilian Minister of National Integration and Communications Minister Helio Costa were on board.
As it was landing, the Learjet 35's left-hand undercarriage failed to lower, forcing the plane's underside to touch the ground.
The jet skidded before coming to a halt on grass next to the runway. The airport was closed until the evening as a result of the incident.
The passengers were expected to be transported on another flight later in the day.
